1977 April SUMIEITO KOSAN founded in Himeji.
1987 April Tokyo Office opens.
1989 April SUMIEITO KOSAN becomes SUMIEITO Co., Ltd. New offices completed in Himeji.
1992 July Industrial waste recycling facility (currently Himeji Resource Recycling Plant) completed in Himeji.
1994 April Chubu Office opens.
June NIKKA SUMIEITO, a 50/50 joint venture with Hitachi Chemical, established.
1995 May

NIKKA SUMIEITO completes Main Plant (now Ibaraki Resource Recycling Plant) in Chikusei, Ibaraki Prefectre.

September Corporate mission drawn up.
1996 December

SlurMix@, a method of recycling that turns industrial waste into alternative fuel,

successfully patented (No. 2594418).

1999 September FSC@ certification service begins.
2000 April SUMIEITO Co., Ltd. becomes AMIT CORPORATION. A part of the Himeji Resource Recycling Plant becomes Sumieito Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of AMITA.
2001 October AMITA business initiatives win Good Design award.
November AMITA CORPORATION moves head office to Tokyo.
2002 June AMITA joins the UN Global Compact.
2003 July AMITA CORPORATION receives research commission from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
2004 January

West Japan office opens.

October Sumieito and the Himeji Resource Recycling Plant become part of AMITA CORPORATION.
2005 April AMITA CORPORATION absorbs Sumieito subsidiary.
July Institute for Sustainable Economies established.
August Kyotango Resource Recycling Plant established.
2006 June

AMITA CORPORATION listed on the Nippon New market Hercules

(which became part of JASDAQ in July 2013)

September

MSC certification service begins.
November Nikka Sumieito becomes wholly owned subsidiary of AMITA CORPORATION.
2007 April AMITA CORPORATION merges with (its subsidiary) Nikka Sumieito.
2009 February AMITA Institute for Sustainable Economies Co., Ltd./ AMITA Eco Brain Co., Ltd./ Tobimushi Inc. established.
